For someone to go out of thier way to try to take what's rightfully mine through the time I spent gaining it, that's absolutely wrong and there is NO justification for it such as "making me cautious". I shouldn't HAVE to be cautious. I'm not cautious when I'm at the store and hand my money over to the cashier. If I drop some cash and don't notice it, that's understandably my loss and I don't go looking for it. The same goes for IG. If I drop something and forget to pick it up, it's considered gone forever. I'm not sure who it was that was bragging about scamming another player (although I believe I know who it was) and then claiming it made the other person better by making them cautious... well, I'd very much like that person to try that with me in RL. I won't resort to name calling as we all believe this person doesn't mind being flamed.

I also wanted to put this out to the group, the online world, whether it's a game or chatroom or whatever you call Role Playing, doesn't neccessarily mean you get to hide behind the 'net, it means you get to be who you really are without fear of reprisals or rejection.
Thank god you didnt play old ultima online huh

I have a question if they ever implemented a theif class in pvp and you were aloud to steal players items. (not saying they will implement this class) Like in ultima online you can steal players items. Would that be different then scamming then?

This thread's going to be locked if the bickering continues. No I'm not whining it's the rules and no-one likes to see their thread go down the drain. Try to make the posts constructive, I think people have made some really good points.

So no one answered the question.

Every one insults in a online game, weather you say so or not its a part of competitve online gamming. It will always be, i dont insult some one with racism or sexuality but i insult their skills for fun and i scam their items for personal gain.

I dont think its against the rules insulting some ones playing skills. Expeccially when you are dominating them.

Interesting. You don't seem to have read Sniper's posts about the RULES of the game.

Also.. would you take offense someone said you were crap in bed?
I mean, they'd just be insulting your ability to make love so what's the problem.. especially when they're dominating you

Hmm, the way the news puts it these days, I wouldn't put it past ya'.

As far as scamming goes there is little to nothing a network admin can do to rectify the problem, that is depending on the standing and privlages the company provides that person. As well as the established protocols for such situations.

As far as in game behavior, If I had my way, lots of players would see the boot, and in fact at one time, on a small network I worked on players did. However with that comes all to many people intrested in returning the favor. They make hundreds of attempts to sew you or say you are wrong. People are people, they almost certainly hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil, and do no evil until they are caught. At which point they attempt to put all thier forces or brain cells together to ruin everything for anyone left behind that might be having fun. Theres not a whole lot that you can do about it, except /ban /ignore.

*shrugs*

I agree with you in that I believe that people should act civilly towards each other, online or no, but I have to ask... What was the purpose in you posting this? People will be jerks on the internet and in real life, pointing out that they are jerks isn't going to make them amend their ways. In my opinion, the best way to deal with them is to ignore them. A lot of the people that act like jerks on the internet do it because they enjoy getting a rise out of people who are offended by their actions or words, telling them that they are rude or responding with insults will just let them know that you're a good person to pick on and that they have a lot more fun with you if they can continue pushing your buttons.

(I can't stop posting here! My fingers are moving and typing, I just can't stop them!)

The sentence you just posted is one of the most hilarious things I read lately. I can't even focus on the content, I'm still laughing at the grammar. You're a rare find...a brute, a pre-historical man with no insight, let alone respect for others. I thought they didn't exist anymore.

Your attempts at being smart make you look like an elephant who's trying not to be invasive in the women's bathroom.

What do you want me to write? You're obviously not very intelligent. If you don't understand that there's people controlling these "Pixels" and that they may, or may not be offended when you insult them over the internet, then what can I do? Smack your parents? I kind of feel sorry for you actually. Here, have a banana. *gives hell raiser a banana*

Thats two different things, if a woman made fun of my ability to preform in bed in real life to which some one says that to me in a online game that i never met before, which one will i take offence to?

Any thread asking for peace and harmony would of course break down into a flame war. Didn't you learn anything from the violent assassination of Ghandi?

I agree though. You shouldn't get pissed about losing, because it is just a game. However, getting scammed, being made fun of for losing, and general rudeness have no more place here than they would on a soccer field or in a card game.
